Clearly playful.
The logotype consists of the mathematical sign ⋝ (U+22DD
), which stands for 'equal to or greater than',
followed by my alias 'holsen.'
Choosing U+22DD
was motivated by a couple of reasons: mathematics
being an undeniably important aspect of computer science; and it looks like
a collapsing hamburger menu, somebody help it for crying out loud! The alias
is set in a monospaced font reminiscent of programming.
Animations were added simply out of joy. In the very same moment that I started thinking about animating the symbol, I saw some kind of face (🦆) in front of me and couldn't help myself. The symbol itself is obviously not trademarked in any way.
Harmony is a beautiful color palette carefully crafted by Evil Martians , and full credit goes to them for making this. Each color has
a lightness ranging from 50
(leftmost) to 950
.
Variable fonts are awesome and a real designer with a type fetish could talk your ear off about why they are so great. The reason I like them is that they make fonts easier to work with while still allowing for a lot more flexibility .
As a developer, I only have to juggle a single file, which, arguably, isn't even juggling at all.
This font is a crossover of different font types: it is semi-condensed, semi-rounded, semi-geometric, semi-din, semi-grotesque. It employs minimal stoke [sic] thickness variations and a semi-closed aperture.

Fira Code is a free monospaced font containing ligatures for common programming multi-character combinations. This is just a font rendering feature: underlying code remains ASCII-compatible. This helps to read and understand code faster.

I was bored and felt like doing something with gradients.
